Test Partial Payments in the Invoices Request Deposit Beta

Hey everyone!

I’m excited to announce that we’ve rolled out a beta for accepting partial payments with Square Invoices!

This new feature will allow you to create a single invoice and track multiple payments on that invoice. This may also be useful for those of you who want to accept a deposit and collect the rest of the amount due later.

We know this is a feature many of you have been waiting for, so I hope you’ll help us test it out!

yes please.. I'm an installer and bill the entire service call but my client pays partials against the whole invoice.

Hi, although I'm very enthused in this deposit/balnce options, what is the solution for a partial payment for either goods or services that are invoiced? e/g/, I just did an installation project - customer requested I billed for the invoice by the project (which is referenced as a total project including a mutually agreed upon and signed-off amount) But, they requested they make payments against the invoice in installments that may or may not be equal? I don't see a deposit and the Balance as a solution for this dilema.. what do I do if there's more than 2 payments coming as well? What if it's going to end up being 5 payments?

Agreed! Is there a way to take payment on an invoice after it's been sent? I often send an invoice and then someone wants to pay in person. Am I just missing it?

I do fishing reel repair and get deposits all the time if someone is gonna be out of town and doesn't want me to sell their reels so I could seriously use this. I actually have a customer right now I would love to use this on.
