Test Partial Payments in the Invoices Request Deposit Beta

Hey everyone!

 

I’m excited to announce that we’ve rolled out a beta for accepting partial payments with Square Invoices!

 

This new feature will allow you to create a single invoice and track multiple payments on that invoice. This may also be useful for those of you who want to accept a deposit and collect the rest of the amount due later.

 

We know this is a feature many of you have been waiting for, so I hope you’ll help us test it out!

By using partial payments and providing us feedback, you will directly influence and improve the Square Invoices product. So please share your reactions and input.

Does that mean that we get charged 3.5% for both the deposit and then again for the remainder of the invoice?

@huffmans-c-wood It doesn't.

Because this is apart of Invoices the price is 2.9% + 30¢ per invoice.

Invoices paid with a card on file is 3.5% + 15¢ per invoice, but this feature isn't support with partial payments yet.

Howard - I created a new invoice and took the deposit yesterday.  I changed the due date to today and am now trying to take the remaining balance due and am getting  an "update required" Open the App  Store to update square.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled square and am still getting this error message on this invoice only.

Me TOO!!! so frustrating! I jumped on the desktop to complete the payment, but it would not allow me to manually put in a credit card.  The deposit was made cash, so not sure if the system assumes that the next payment will be the same type of payment.
