This post has been a long time coming but I never had the time, but now I had AI write it for me.

As the owner of a small laundry and dry cleaning business, we utilize the open ticket system to manage orders. Our business often receives orders that require 20 or more tickets and unfortunately, we also have orders that never get picked up. This has led to a backlog of open tickets dating back to 2019, with no easy way to categorize them by creation date. Additionally, since we cannot reprint paid tickets, we are forced to collect payment at the end of the process, costing us money for the orders that never get picked up. We use printed tickets to mark orders as they go through the washing machines and dryers.

 

The open ticket system is crucial for our laundry business as it allows us to keep track of each customer's laundry loads and accurately charge them based on the weight. It also enables us to provide a personalized experience by inputting customer information and preferences. We would prefer for the data entry to be automated. The lack of the following features costs us precious time and money. 

 

- Square open ticket system does not allow re-print of paid tickets (it does for a few minutes, why not a day or a week?)

- Original creation time of tickets is not displayed. The physical copy is the only copy with origination date. 

- Total amount of money for open tickets is not provided on Apple. 

- Total number of open tickets is not displayed

- Inability to categorize open tickets by date or category such as 2019, 2020, etc. or dry cleaning, laundry, retail, etc.

- Inability to specify the number of tickets to print at once, requiring one-at-a-time printing.

- Inability to save customer preferences such as detergent, softener, hang or fold, etc.

- Does not automatically populate new tickets with customer data and preferences such as Name address phone number, curbside or delivery, etc. 

 

I understand that Square offers other systems, such as the orders system, that may have some of the features we need. However, we specifically require the open ticket system to generate physical copies of the tickets to keep track of the laundry loads. This system allows us to print essential information such as the customer's name, address, phone number, and preferences on each ticket. Currently, we are manually entering all of this information, which can be time-consuming and prone to errors. While the amount of laundry or dry cleaning and the items being cleaned are variable from one order to the next, we would like to automate as much of the process as possible to increase efficiency and accuracy.
