Feature Request: Square Gift Card and eGift Card redemption via a third-party website

The title of this post has been edited from the original: Can Square gift cards be used in my Wix site?

We use Wix to host our small business website and just upgraded to their online store functionality becuase it gave us the ability to customize and look like a cohesive party of our website.

We are still using Square to process our payments. We were wondering if Square gift cards and discount codes can still be redeemed on our website?

We've been really happy with our service with Square but really need more customization for selling our classes. Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

This reply was created from merging an existing thread: Can Digital Gift Cards be used on a GO DADDY website

I'm trying to find out about digital gift cards.  On my GoDaddy website we have a shopping cart.  We offer promotional coupons, but often our customers forget to use them.  I want a way to finish the sale when the customer is sending the prediscount price, to follow up by sending them a digital gift card that will have the appropriate promo discount that they would have received if using the promo code.

At this time, Square Gift Cards - digital eGift Cards and physical Gift Cards - cannot be used via third-party eCommerce sites. They can only be redeemed via your Square Online website, or in person. We're tracking this request in this thread and we'll share any news here in future!

Thanks for hanging tough!

Anyone know how to add square egift cards to woocommerce? I'm using divi on wordpress.

Also, can you shop with square gift cards on woo commerce?

Hey there@dkrim - Glad to have you here in the Community!

At this time, Square Gift Cards cannot be sold or redeemed from from 3rd-Party eCommerce integrations like Woo-Commerce. This feature is only available with Square's online store

Im using ecwid for my ecommerce store.  I want to purchase gift cards but Im not seeing an option to use the gift card at checkout.  Any help would be create

I have exactly the same problem as the person who launched this thread.  I'm using woocommerce and would like to use the square gift cards.

I had a multiple discussions with square support on this.   Their canned answer "if enough customers request, that motivates square to support".

Its clear that square is using their Gift cards as a "walled gardened" motivation to try and get sellers to use Weebly for their e-commerce sites.  If it can work on Weebly, it can work on any solution.   This isn't rocket science.

I like square allot, unfortunately, this is a big issue.   Gift cards are key.   Having a gift card across the ecommerce site and square terminal is also key.   Unless square changes this soon, we will have no choice but to move off of square gift cards in the store.

Hey @Doobieshappypet!

Welcome to the Seller Community!

As of right now, Ecwid does not recognize Square Gift (or eGift) Cards as an accepted form of payment. So sorry about this.

We're working with our partners to try to get them to recognize our Gift Cards as a form of payment. Until then, our Gift Cards will only work in-person using our POS system, or using our Square Online Store. Hopefully this is a feature that will be made available in the near future. Thanks for surfacing this question.
