Feature Request: Square Gift Card and eGift Card redemption via a third-party website

The title of this post has been edited from the original: Can Square gift cards be used in my Wix site?

We use Wix to host our small business website and just upgraded to their online store functionality becuase it gave us the ability to customize and look like a cohesive party of our website. 

We are still using Square to process our payments. We were wondering if Square gift cards and discount codes can still be redeemed on our website?

We've been really happy with our service with Square but really need more customization for selling our classes. Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

you definitely need to have a Square account and Square to be your processor to use Square gift cards.  a Square egift card cannot be redeemed at any store, but only at the physical store it was bought for or their Square website.  You do have a Square account or otherwise, you wouldn't be able to set up what you did to sell egift cards.

what you are describing will not work as the egift card code will only work in a store at a Square POS or only at a Square website.

It's useless? That's disappointing. So even with Square doing the processing, there is no way for our customers to redeem the gift cards on our site??

Thank you for your reply. That was such a waste of my time then.

The sales person had told me that we could set up a gift card system without having our processing done with Square - we have an account of course- our website is too complicated to be made on Square!

Another company simply gives a code that is set up through MC and goes through like a credit card payment. I would like to use Square as we are considering using it for processing too by the beginning of the year.

I don't understand how it is supposed to work then? It assumes you have a website made by Square??

I'm not sure who you talked to or what number you called but Square gift cards will not work at companies outside of Square, and actually won't work at businesses other than the one purchased from.  Square gift cards are tied to a specific store or chain of stores and the money is deposited to them upon sale.  It isn't some conglomerate holding the funds that then get dispersed upon use.

I'm sorry for the frustration this has caused @Eyewearinsight! EGift Cards that are sold from your Square online order page can be redeemed from Square's Online Store or in the Point of Sale app for in-person sales or for phone orders. Square's Gift Cards also be redeemed on Weebly eCommerce sites.

If Square's Gift Cards can be redeemed with other partner eCommerce sites in future we'll let you know — we're working on it!

I have square integrated with my WIX site.  I sent out a promo letting customers know I can now offer e-gift cards.  my business is an online business.  once an e-gift card is purchased..how can the client redeem it on my site.  please help I need a response asap.  thanks!

unfortunately, E-gift cards from Square are not supported for redemption thru 3rd party websites yet like Wix.  only one site has e-gift card and physical gift card integration and it was just enabled last month.  https://hc.weebly.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018793832-Square-Gift-Cards
