Feature Request: Change locations without logging out

The title of this post has been edited from the original: How to change locations on iPad?

 

I use the same iPad for different "locations".   The only way I can see to change locations is to log off and then log back in and choose the location I want. Is there a way to change locations while logged in?

This question has been asked back in 2016. I hope you have a solution. Real pain to log in and out every time you need to change location.

I am unable to toggle between locations on my mobile device.  I have tried logging off and back on, but I seem to be stuck on one location - without the ability to select other locations.   Help!

What kind of device are you using with your Square reader? 

 

Also, check out this Support Article with some more information on Location Management.

 

Normally, the best action is to log out and back into your Point of Sale account and it will allow you to choose the location you'd like to take a payment for. 

 

If you're still not seeing that option, make sure your Point of Sale app is up to date too.

This is completely insane! I don’t think I know of any other company that waits this long to address such a huge topic! This POS system is really amazing combined with appointments. But I cannot wrap my brain around this tiny feature that is so utterly important not being available. This is incredibly disappointing. 

As  an admin of our current store with two locations i find it tremendously frustrating that we have to keep logging out of the square POS app in order to access a different location.  I would love to have the ability to see sales, transfers,  reports   for all my locations in one place.  I spend so much time logging in and out of the APP its frustrating.  And the logout button is not in an easy place to access  You have to first go into settings, then "account" then log out.  

 

Cant they build a toggle button that makes it easier or create a  new app that combines all your stores if they still want to keep the current one for separate locations.

We are also struggling with this lack of functionality. There is a clunky workaround if anyone is interested.

 

Workaround

 

If you use your Square Dashboard through a web browser rather than the app, you can toggle the locations. The smallest device I would recommend you use would be a tablet. I wouldn't recommend using a smartphone. It also works on a smartphone, but you don't get anything other than a day view, so you have to tap... tap... tap... tap... over to the day you want. If that's a week out, then it's a lot of senseless tapping; but you can do it. 

 

We have seen a lot of great improvements to Square in the almost 8 years we've used them, but this feature is one that people use on the fly when interacting with clients. Scheduling by its very nature is time sensitive for almost everyone. Maybe it's time to refocus on the priorities.

I don't understand what you're saying here.  How can you use the dashboard on the web browser as a register?  Are you talking about squareup.com or a different URL?
