Feature Request: Change locations without logging out

The title of this post has been edited from the original: How to change locations on iPad?

I use the same iPad for different "locations".   The only way I can see to change locations is to log off and then log back in and choose the location I want. Is there a way to change locations while logged in?

OMG seriously this is incredibly important for businesses that are rescheduling customers on the calendar and have two locations for them to choose from!!!!!! Its sooo important that i have been looking for a NEW APP to use, and leaving Square after 6 years because I need something that is easier for people with two locations. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make this easier on phones and ipads.

This still doesn’t work! I honestly expected the app to recognize the location based on where the device was at the time of the sale... after plugging in addresses for your locations it should be easy enough for a iPad to recognize. You could just have a simple process to add a pop up to confirm location any time it’s been relocated and a new transaction is started. 

I just set up for separate locations to simplify sales tax reporting, and it’s frustrating that it hasn’t been tracking for the whole month.

Agreed. I just joined Square and am not impressed that this feature is not currently available although people have been requesting it for 4 years 🤔

I am a developer. I know that you will have product owners, backlog items etc etc. During the next sprint planning, this should be included (it can probably be completed in 1 sprint). You cannot tell me location switching is not a popular request, and that 4 years on the backlog is insane. So you are telling me you can add curbside pickup in a month when the pandemic hit, but you are unable to have a switch location option? If the user has access to the location, allow them to switch in app. 

The answer you gave me was an excuse, and not a great one. I get that when you're agile, that you need to be able pivot quickly, but again, 4 years for such a simplistic feature is crazy.

What is the Quickest way  to switch between 2 locations in one terminal?

We have 2 locations' businesses running in one physical location but need to enter they accounting properly.

Now, to do so, is : Log Out, Log In, enter user id, enter password, enter, choose location.

Is there a simpler way to switch between 2 Locations without need to login and logout? 
They small keys and long email / password is slowing this down.
Even if i do it right it is about a minute......

I've gone ahead and merged your post into an existing thread of Sellers who were also looking for information regarding switching locations on a mobile device. 

You are correct, here. The only current way to swap locations on a mobile device will be to log out, and log back in to select the correct location. 

I will note that we are aware that this process is cumbersome, and we are actively looking to bring some changes to this process soon. Stay tuned!

I agree to be able to switch location without logging out.  Our business has two company's in the same location. When customers are waiting while you log out, log in find the invoice again it is about the time they are standing there watching you. Really upsetting when the next customer is now making purchase from the other company. It is about the time you make your customer stand there....

I have 4 locations - my square portable terminal works fine.

But i change location everyday, so every morning i have to SIGN OUT of that location and then put in my email address / password and then select the new location to begin the day.

My question is: Is there a way to switch locations WITHOUT signing out and In every single day?

Heya @nyles and welcome to the Community.

At the time, doing this without signing out is a feature request and there's not another option.

I'll be sure to pass along the feedback that you're looking for this option as well.

This has been a "feature request" since 2016 when I look through previous inquiries. Are we expecting this anytime soon? It really shouldn't be that difficult to switch locations... 

Especially on the orders tab, it would be nice to see what orders are pending at ALL locations, rather than having to log out and back in again.
