Disabling clock in and out for Salaried Team Members

We have both hourly and salaried staff. It would streamline things if Square did not ask salaried staff to clock in when they log in to register. I know they can click continue without clocking in but they get irritated having to do that throughout the day.

I have salaried employees and volunteers... NO ONE needs to do the clock in/out. Why is this feature forced on us? Is it really that hard and takes 6+ years to develop? There are so many frivolous items and features added in that time that this wasn't addressed? Can't there be an option under each "team member" to toggle on/off if they use the timecard feature? That way it can be turned on or off as someone sees fit?

Hi @Mocohistoryctr - if you don't need any employees to clock-in you should be able to disable time tracking on your POS via the Shifts for Team Management add-on as well as disabling clocking-in via the Team app (via Shifts>Settings>Clock in/out) and that should effectively remove the burden of clocking in for your team.

I'm amazed that since 2017 the feature to disable the clock-in/out for owners/salaried employees has not yet been addressed. It's annoying and adds an extra step that takes more time especially when you are busy. Will this be addressed?

HI, @dogwoodlodge - thanks for bubbling this topic up again.  We have this and a few other improvements to the experience for salaried team members on our shortlist.

 

I'd love to understand a bit more about how you manage your salaried team members.  Do you include them on your schedule week to week?  Do you include salaried labor costs when determining who to schedule for the week ahead?

This is so silly.  As the owner I DO NOT need to clock in and clock out.  I have part timers that do, and a salary person who also does NOT.  this is such an old reauest and another so obvious thing that is missing it's so annoying.  I can't even tell if the salary person does clock in if that gets used for their pay or their salary config.  He's been getting paid without clocking in so what happens if he DOES clock in and me the owner NEVER SHOULD NEED TO!  so utterly silly.

Hi @CColotti - understand your frustration with this one.  We have this in our plans to resolve and will be sure to reach out again here on this thread when we begin development.

@JasonSQPM Would love to see this feature go live - we currently add our salaried team members to our weekly schedule for forecasting weekly wage costs.
