Creating scanable membership cards?

Is it possible to create a membership card with a scanable UPC code on?

What I want to do is have a card that I can scan and it automatically adds the customer to the sale.

So for example instead of hitting "no sale" and then "add customer" and then searching for their name and hitting add to sale. I would just scan the UPC code and it would pull them up.

We would really love this feature also, it would be a HUGE help for managing our season pass holders, which is a huge part of our business. Hopefully at the very least a third party integration makes this available soon.

+1 for this feature. We would like to be able to look at data for how often individual members visit throughout the season; right now we have no system of looking at individual member patterns.

Hi, 

I was hoping Square's POS had a feature where customers can digitally check-in to our studio by scanning their key ring with a bar code.  This would be most similar to a gym membership model. It would be convenient if Square can take class attendance, generate trends, flag for past due payments through it's customer feature. Please let me know if this is something your investing in, it makes a difference my long-term strategic planning and investments.

Great ideas! A long standing request that has garnered a ton of interest but unfortunately I have nothing to share at this time. That doesn't mean things won't change down the road. 

I merged you to a thread where we're tracking the feature to scan customer ID cards for membership based services and other customer management tools.  Hopefully we have exciting news to share soon.
