I had the Square app installed on an iPad and I was able to collect customer emails during checkout. Worked great!
Then, I purchased the Square Register (this guy - https://squareup.com/shop/hardware/us/en/products/register-pos) and the ability to collect customer emails during checkout is gone. I believe this is an oversight and somehow got removed from the Android codebase.
Can you please add the ability to collect customer emails (without having to purchase the Loyalty Add on) back to the Square Register?
If there is a reason why this functionality is purposely left off the Square Register, I would appreciate it if you could let me know the reason behind this decision.
Thanks in advance.

@Candlestore - really appreciate your tip! I will give it a shot.
Definitely a good work-around for now but hope that Square will make it a more seamless experience for customers where it was just part of the checkout workflow.
The weird thing is that the iOS app is free and it includes the customer email collection option but the Square POS machine costs money and doesn't include this functionality. So, I feel a bit silly having paid for something that gives me less functionality than I had before.
But to be fair, I enjoy the 2 screens (employee and customer-facing) during checkout which was not available with the iOS app/iPad solution.
Having worked in software for years before owning my own business, I remember that having feature parity across all OSes and devices was a standard requirement for all releases. Just surprised to see Square not follow this same approach - or, at a bare minimum, provide a feature matrix of what features you get with which solution (iOS/iPad vs. Square Retail POS machine (runs on Android).
