using virtual terminal, why dont I always get a confirmation number?

using square as a virtual terminal,  works great.

I ussually get a payment confirmation cosde,  but sometimes there is no code... Why?

Want to make sure I'm understanding fully here. When you say that you get a payment confirmation code, what exactly are you referring to? A confirmation email, or something else?
