using square device on iphone

I am new to this and just setting it up. Received the card reader that plugs into my iPhone and tried using the app with my cellular connection but kept getting the message that internet not accessible. I moved to where there was wifi and was able to do it. Does this mean I cannot process cards with just a cellular connection, but must have wifi?

you can use a cellular connection, we do 100s of transactions a day on cellular.  maybe you just had a week signal? try rebooting the app and maybe even the phone.
