the article on how to create shipping labels within Square Online/Weebly is great but it doesn't mention what label printer to use if you want to print the label via the square for retail ipad option. It seems like the bar code shipping label printer must be a wireless printer connected through the ethernet router. There is no suggestion on what usb-connected shipping label printer will work connected to the square for retail hardware.
Hi there, @PortsmouthSoaps - thanks for reaching out to us here again on the Seller Community. Good to hear from you!
In regards to printing shipping labels through the Weebly based online Store, there is no specific printer that we would endorse simply due that most Sellers print the PDF version of their created shipping labels from a Desktop Computer.
There may however be a specific printer that your peers here on the Community can suggest if they've found a good workaround for printing labels directly from their iPad. I will go ahead and leave your post up here, in hopes to generate some dialogue if anyone can step in and provide suggestions!
Do I hear crickets?
What thermal label printers can I use with Square?
Need more information. What are you doing with the thermal printer? Labels for SKU numbers would be my guess. To work from Square for Retail (paid version) you can read what works here:
create-and-print-bar-code-labels-with-square-for-retail
But you can also just buy a thermal printer and make your own barcodes with the printers software. Depending on your own needs one might work better than the other. I have a computer that I use just for printing my SKU labels, I open the file tell it to print X quantity for the items we made and then label the items. This is all without Square.
Hey @quarterhorseinn,
Thanks for writing back in to the Seller Community!
@Candlestore has shared some great advice about printing SKU labels. If you're looking for a printer to print out sticky labels, for example to stick on take away coffee cups, take a look here.
There is not one thermal label printer on the market that works with iPad/MAC OS or Chromebook. Would be awesome for someone to come out with it though.
Your best bet would be to download the label [or in the case of your iPad, save it to iCloud], then print off your desktop. My thermal printer is incredible. USB connected to my desktop. 600 free labels when you sign up with an account with USPS. Here is the link to it - I believe it has a $10 coupon so it makes it $109
