Our winery offers different discounts based on how many bottles the customer purchases. Four or five bottles is 5% off, 6-10 bottles is 10%, etc etc.
I can set up the automatic discount to trigger when 6 OR 10 bottles are added, but I can't seem to find a way to input a range for the quantity. Is there a way to set it up to trigger for any value between 6 and 10 or do I have to create a separate discount code for each value between 6 and 10? If I have to make a separate code for each I can do it that way but I'm hoping to save myself a lot of typing if I can, since we have discounts for up to 24 bottles.
Thanks in advance!
someone else has a problem like yours and this was the answer given
the most common work around, which is to create a variable discount by leaving the value of the discount $0.00. This will prompt you to enter the value of the discount based on how many bottle redemptions were included on the transaction.
When I set up quantity based discounts, I could choose the exact quantity or Buy one Get one, or a minimum quantity. So to have this apply automatically you may have to make the same discount multiple times but change the Exact Quantity value. The only thing I am not sure if it will work is if you have a discount for say 3 items at 3% off and a discount for 6 items with 5% off what would happen. You may have to test it and see how that works.
I solved it! I knew there was something in the fine print that I hadn't deciphered yet. Right below the automatic discount field is some text that says "If multiple discounts are applicable, the greater discount will be applied."
I tested it out with a minimum value of 4 on one discount tier and 6 on the next and sure enough, the discount is automatically changed from 5% to 10% once it hits the next quantity threshold.
Thank you everyone for your input!
