iPAD 2 + ContactLess Reader Compatibility

From reading the documents here, I assume that iPAD 2 (Model # MC769LL/A) is not compatible for wireless operation with the Square Contactless Reader. 

It says that you need the Square Stand for this combination to work. Does anyone have experience with this? 

I want to survey the community on whether this works before I buy it.

The iPad2 is not compatiable with the contactless because the iPad2 does not support Bluetooth 4 or Bluetooth LE.  It does work in an older square stand ( I believe the iPad2 still uses 30 Pin connector) because it is connectiing over USB thru the square stand.

You mentioned "older square stand". Does that mean that the latest stand will not work with this iPAD 2 ?

That is correct.  I don't believe square sells the iPad 2 compatible model anymore.  At least I wasn't able to find it directly.  You can buy on ebay but at that point it really is time to get a newer iPad anyway.
