Why is Square ecommerce accepting ALL fraudulent charges?

I have used Square as my primary payment processor for 9 years. I also use PayPal, Stripe, Shopify, Shop, etc...I have NEVER had so many chargebacks as now! (All in one week, most in 24 hrs)

Square has accepted credit card payments that were CLEARLY fraudulent (all through my WIX ecommerce website).

ALL of these included MORE than 1 of the following:

  • Names that did not match the cardholder
  • Billing address did not match cardholder (and 100+ miles away)
  • No CVV codes or wrong CVV codes entered
  • Shipping address more than 100 miles away
  • IP address more than 100 miles away
  • Email addresses  "[email protected]"
  • Shipping to another person in another state
  • Multiple declined attempts before accepting

AND, I was never made aware of any suspicious activity for 10 days after the 1st sale was processed. By the time I was aware of a problem, all items had shipped (I pay for FREE shipping)!

**My products are expensive, heavy liquids (Avg $408) w FREE shipping which is costly***

When I used my PAID Whitepages account, used to verify suspicious orders thru other payment processors, because they FLAG orders, I found all were blacklisted names, phone numbers, IP addresses, AND the CC numbers had already been reported!!

How can I be held responsible to cover these fraudulent purchases, when I PAY SQUARE to prevent this exact situation?? That is what we pay for! If I wanted to accept payments without verification of validity, I would just accept paper checks and bank transfers myself.

I make online purchases everyday, and if my name, address or any cardholder info does not match, no CVV code, my payment would NOT go through! So does Square allow this??

Certainly I am not the only person who has experienced this incompetent and expensive BS from Square
