I have iPad 2 and mag stripe/chip reader. Suddenly stopped working. Just after reader connects, square app closes, back to iPad home screen. I can't even enter numbers for charge amount. Very embarassing in the middle of art fair!
I agree! It sounds less than ideal. 😕
With a little troubleshooting, we should be able to get you up and running. From what I can tell, it sounds like there must be a glitch with the app. Please try out these steps:
- Make sure that both your mobile device and Square Register app are up-to-date.
- Force quit the app on your device.
- If you don't have any pending offline payments, delete and reinstall the app.
