When syncing my item library, how can I choose which items will be visible in the online store?

I'm planning on setting up an online store, however I only want a few of my items that I have available in store to appear online. How can I choose which items to sync and be visible in the Online Store?

If you're using Square's Online Store environment (not the weebly upgrade!!), you can determine which items you want for sale in the Store Editor.

First create your categories. These can be different than your usual categories so you can group some items in a more customer-friendly way if need be.

Inside the category box that is created, you can add items by clicking on the circled plus sign. Choose Import from Library then search and choose your item. You will need to choose a fulfillment type for the item to display.

Things to note about the online store-

-Sales are lumped together in the reports. To see online-specific sales, choose Display by Source in your Sales Summary page

-Whatever you have for items and modifiers is what the customer sees. If you use abbreviations (OM for over medium eggs for example), the customer will see that too.

If your store has been integrated to the new weebly platform, it'll be a little different. My store has not been switched over yet, so I can't help you there.

If you are using another eCommerce solution, each one is going to be a little different. Check your eCommerce help files for how to integrate with Square.

Hope this helps!

I do not think this is what they are asking. In the old store, you used to be able to go to an item and hit "seen or hidden" so if i want to only see an item for the first week of the month I would hide it the rest of the month and not actually delete the item. Or if something is out of stock and I dont know when I will get it back in if at all. I would hide itt still have it as a place holder.

The NEW weebley site looks like it has that. you click the item and go to edit (so annoying as I am used to just clicking an item to edit it. so this is one extra annoying step that takes extra time) then as you scroll down you should see "seen, unseen and delete" or something like that. now I did try this with some items and they were still visible and I was annoyed so I ended up deleting it. I am seriously not liking this new site builder. it took away all the good stuff I liked.

You used to be able to close your store but keep it online so if you went on vacation for 2 weeks I would post a note of my return and turn off my site to orders. I don't see where i can do that on the new site.

@koalas_boutique I think I found the spot to disable the store. It's so buried in the Weebly setup.... ugh.

Online Store -> Settings ->Pickup & Delivery -> each location disable "Accept Pickup" and "Accept Delivery"

I'm not configured for shipping right now, but I'd bet that the Shipping section here should have something similar.

I've requested to both Square and Weebly an option to disable the store directly from the Square PoS. We've been asking for that since the first ever version of the online store, though, so...... 😕

I followed the links you've posted and found what you were referring to. Unfortunately it does not turn off the website for online orders, It only disables the pick up/ delivery options. 😞

@koalas_boutique if you would like to disable your online store, you will need to go to Website > General Settings > Scroll Down > Unpublish

This will take your website down for the time being and you can republish it any time you like. I have a screenshot below of what this option looks like:

Please let me know if you have any follow up questions. Thanks!

I saw that. but what then shows up? I don't want customers thinking I went out of business or anything. Normally with the old site I would post a "new section" with a simple text saying I am on vacation so it is turned off from new orders until......." if a site is unpublished what it posted in its place? wouldnt that also mean customers cant window shop?

That makes sense! Sorry for misunderstanding. You can leave your website up for window shopping, but not accept orders under Settings > Checkout > Accept Online Orders (it should be the first option).

Let me know if this helps!
