When I set up appointments for my clients they do not get a request to pay

The title of this thread has been edited from the original: appointments setup clients not getting request to pay

So I setup appointments and have been entering appointments manually for customers who call or email me directly. Do i have to invoice them seperately? I just sent myself a test and it doesn't ask for payment. did I miss a step in setup? tia

Hi @insleyPhoto! The setting to require prepayment for Appointments only applies to appointments that are booked online, through your online Appointments booking site. When you set up an appointment from your Dashboard they won't receive a payment request, I'm sorry for any confusion!

But instead, you could save your customer's card on file, and then charge their card right from your Dashboard to prepay. The steps to add a card on file and then use card on file to prepay for an Appointment are in our Support Center.

As for the customers you've already entered appointments for, if you need them to to pay in advance, yes you could send them an Invoice. Or you could add their card on file and use Virtual Terminal to charge their card before their appointment.

Last but not least the per transaction fee for Square Invoices is 2.9% + 10¢ and the per transaction fee for card on file or Virtual Terminal is 3.5% + 15¢.

Hi! So I did add a customer manually, which is what I wanted to do. So when I go to their profile, it shows the service then it says “Review and Check Out”. If I press that, does that mean it’s going to ask for payment? And if so, can it be done virtually? Since my services are not done in person. Thank you!

Hi @Musiciannow. Thanks for reaching out! Clicking "review and check out" will not immediately charge the client's card as it will allow you to add or remove any services before hitting "charge." This will allow you to charge the card remotely as well! 🙂
