What to do if item is appearing in wrong category, even though it is listed everywhere correctly?

I have several categorites and even though an item appears correctly listed in my item library and online store as the category I wish for it to be in, it will not appear in the category, but assigns itself to another category. Is there a limit about the number of  items in each category? I can't find this info or how to fix the problem anywhere. Thanks!

Hmm, not sure I fully understand, @augustadesigns. Where is that items aren't appearing in the correct category?
