What is the best way to ring in farmers market chips that hold cash value?

We are using the square pos app to process payments at the farmers market. Customers may purchase “same as cash” chips and use them for goods at the market. How do I process a payment in chips where the purchase amount is not recorded but the cash coming out given as change is accounted for on my final drawer report?

I have an idea on how you could do this...

If you go to the Square POS App > (Here select the items sold) Charge > More > Other Payment Types. You can add a note of Market Chips or something similar, this section of the charging experience is there to ensure you can see all transactions, Cash, Card, or Other on your business reports... you could also do something similar by reporting a cash sale on your square dashboard!
