Using iPad 4 without a stand? How?

We've used square for the past couple years with an iPhone. We just got an iPad 4, without buying the stand, is there a way to use the iPad as is? Would  it be as simple as just getting a adapter to plug in the reader?

any advise?

Yes, you can continue to use your contactless and chip reader. Just connect your reader wirelessly! No need to get an adapter.
