I'm joining this thread for a moderator response. I want to do something similar for a conference with workshops. Where I would need to sell tickets, but I would need for the purchaser to select the workshops that they would like to attend at the conference. I was hoping the ability to add a modifier would be there, like when you sell a product, but no dice. I hope someone responds soon.

Thanks for jumping in that thread! Unlike the previous thread, item variants may work best for you. With item variants (or price points) you are able to create a list of option that your customers are required to add to the item before check out. 

Because they are required to select at least one before they can check out, you never have to worry about customers forgetting to add a workshop.
