Unusual refund notifications

Dear Square Help,

I have received two notices indicating that Square is refunding customers. The customer is not identified, the amounts are not recognized, and I do not show any disputes in my dashboard. I am concerned because
1. clientele agree on our form, there are no refunds.
2. I am unsure as to the legitimacy of these.
3. We are not willing to give any refund.

I hope you can help.

Did you get those messages through email, or some other medium?  If I received either of them, I'd be pretty confident that they are spoofs.  If you got them through email, you should forward them to [email protected].

Those messages don't look anything like the messages I get when I refund a customer.  For one very obvious thing, the first one says: As you demanded.....  Square's messages always say: You have requested a refund....  The use of the word 'demanded' in your message is very telling.

If you didn't get them via email, I suggest you contact Square's support team to report the matter, and they'll advise you on further steps.  If you've never contacted them before, here's how:

You'll need your customer code to call.  Follow the instructions below on how to get it.

Go to Square's support page.

Click “More”

Click "I don't see my issue"

Click "Call Support"

Write down your Customer Code

Call 1  855  700  6000

Good luck.
