Turn off instant profile?

Is there a way to turn off the instant profile creation?  It creates duplicate records if sales people don’t know it is there.  We create customers when they sign up for our loyalty program and then have to manually delete the instant profiles.  They are not useful and cause problems.

Hey! Thanks for asking. I hear you, the instant profiles can feel annoying at times if there are duplicates, but if the customer is using the same credit card, phone number for loyalty, or giving the same name each time they are being added to a sale, then the instant profiles shouldn't be populating. 

 

I also know that you can merge instant profiles with existing customers, which is about the same steps as deleting them, but it is a move toward at least keeping the customer's sales together. 

 

I will be sure to pass your requests onto our development team though because I believe this could be useful for other sellers too. 🙂
