Track Commission - Continuous Problems

I have read old threads from 2018 that many business owners are frustrated that there is no easy way to keep track of commission for each worker.

None of those threads has answers that actually help, many answers are off point and not getting focused.

Many business owners are running their business with commissions. Square POS was designed especially for restaurants and hair salons like it shows in the Squareup.com website and yet Square did not focus on this issue.

Our business is expanding and we cannot continue facing issues and frustrations over a commission. Like other business owners here they said their business is expanding and not expecting to stay with Square as Square seems to focus on the basic smallest business owners. We are stuck with Square and yet Square is not fixing this issue just answering questions that are not answering directly to the question and off point.

When is Square going to add a feature in Square POS for tracking and assigning sales to workers and calculate commission automatically?

Welcome back to the Community, @Kija

I do not have a timeline for this feature request, as of right now. This has been a highly requested feature and would benefit a ton of our sellers. Keep an eye out for Product Updates for upcoming launches.

Thank you for reaching out to check on this!

I can't believe with all of the marketing involved to sell Square Appointments & POS to salons and commission related businesses using square, that there's no ability to assign a commission code to employees, items or any combination of the two.  Thanks for the additional area to add money into square payroll, I really only use because I thought it would help alleviate time constraints of calculating commissions on every single payroll, but that solution falls short, it's just a blank extra area to include the commission and it solves nothing...at least nothing to make a business need Square Payroll over other payroll providers, seeing is we still can't bring over sales into the payroll seamlessly.

Bottom line, it's a fail, that looks to be going on for over 4 years according to the help articles posted...there's really no excuse with database driven reports and the amount of fields already propagated to use, for Square to at least give a timeline or a better answer then I've found "its a highly requested item" (that we've sat on for a long time)

I'm looking for help, but as you can read above the goal is to get something you're selling as a non work around solution to be just that.
