Square stand will not charge, repeated offense!

I am on my second square register stand--and it has the same issues as the first---it will not charge the iPad.  It has gotten so bad, that I just don't take any of the accessories with me (to craft/art shows).  But,  I will be doing longer-hour shows in which the iPad may not keep a charge the entire day--so what can I do?  We have followed all the trouble shooting info in the trouble-shooting section-- and maybe ONCE out of 15-20 tries, will it charge--and it won't charge the following day.  We are beyond frustrated!

My iPad 3 will not link at all. I purchased a used one and am running iOS version 9.3.1. I used another iPad3 that has not been updated running 9.2.1 and it does everything. So frustrating. The iPad belongs to my cousin and she won't trade me iPads. Again so frustrating. Anyhow what stand/iPad do you have? And what iOS version are you running? I think it is the iOS version. But it could be my iPad as well. I have gone as far as trying to change the charging port to a new one I bought 2 new ports as a fail safe and it still does not work. My guess is your charging port on your stand has a short in it or your port on your iPad is dirty. Try cleaning both. Follow tutorials on YouTube on leaning both ports and maybe this could fix your problem . Please repost any solutions you have discovered. And please if you can answer my 2 questions first as Iam very curios as to what iPad and stand you have and what iOS version you are running. If you have a short I'm trying to learn how to fix them. Either by resoldering a new port or just fixing the original one. I will repost when you answer and again after I have completed my research.

I'll have to check the iPad--- i purchased a refurbished one--- and I only use it, basically, for the Square register.  But-- since I do a lot of outdoor shows---the port on it may need cleaning.  I'll check tomorrow about which iPad I have!

Same problem here. ON my second stand, and I have used it all of a total 3 months.  The engineering of the connections is crap. I can't understand why there are three separate connections for the stand.  That is 2 more connections than necessary and triple the chances of something malfunctioning.  I think SquareUP needs a mechanical engineer to fix this. It ain't rocket science.
