Square shifts

I’m looking at adding square shifts but I don’t want my scheduling managers to have full access to my entire dashboard I just want them to access shifts. How do I do that? Also I don’t work shifts as the owner is there a way to disable me on shifts?

The schedulers will sign into the Dashboard with the same email/password that they use on the Square Team app. If they don't use the Square Team app then they'll receive an email invitation to create an account once you've assigned them the permission set that includes Dashboard access.

When they sign into the Dashboard they'll be limited to viewing only the things that you set permissions for. My scheduler's Dashboard appears empty (no sales data, nothing about items, etc.) compared to mine.

Hi @BlueRidgeCoffee! You can limit access so that your scheduling managers can only go to the shifts section of the Dashboard.

Your scheduling managers will need their own permission set to do this, which they may already have. I'll presume that they don't, but if they do then all you need to do is select the existing permissions and edit them to match this:

  1. Go to the Team section of the Dashboard and select Permissions
  2. Click "Create Permission Set," or click an existing set and edit it.
  3. Name the set.
  4. Enable the "Shifts" permission.
  5. Disable any permissions in this set that don't meet your needs. The one permission that you need for your schedulers is "manage schedules."
    1. I disabled the "manage time enforcement" and "manage tip settings" permissions for my scheduler as I don't want him changing those, but kept everything else enabled.
  6. Add any other permissions that your schedulers need, then continue to the next screen.
  7. Ensure that "Dashboard" is selected as an access point.
  8. Save your changes.

Unfortunately there's not a way for you to disable yourself from shifts. I know that Square is aware of this feature request (I'll keep bringing it up until it's an option) and I'm hoping they'll make it happen in the near future.

Thank you for your help.  Do you give your scheduling managers your login information for the dashboard or is there an alternative way for them to get to the shift section to do the schedule?
