Square inc submitted to IRS for an account I don't have?

I had a square inc account for a business I used to own with someone else. I left the business to her along with all the accounts associated. Everything else was transferred to her name but square inc submitted income to IRS for 2015 under my name and I am now receiving notices from IRS about it that I owe 14,000. I need to check if square inc acct is still under my name and how to get it corrected. PLEASE HELP

Hello @Raquel4487, sorry to hear about the trouble. The account owner cannot be transferred for Square Point of Sale. If the account was setup with your information it can never be changed.

First things first, you will need to reach out to your former business partner and have them enter their EIN if they haven't already. Then we will need your former business partner reach out to us via email requesting a corrected 1099-K form for 2015.

I see this happen once in awhile. Please let me know if you have any questions about the process. @jjgard knows us all to well now. 😉

This is absolutely something that the seller community is not going to be able to help you with.  You'll want to contact Square Support directly.  Even if someone who does work for Square sees/responds to this, they'll just tell you they can't discuss the particulars of your account here and direct you to support...which will result in a further delay in you getting the help you need.

Ive tried contacting the number that shows online but it asks for a code that I don't have so then directs me to come here. I'm handeling my end with the IRS but need to find out how to reach a representative to find out if I even have the account still under my name.
