We have two registers in our bar, its rather small and we hold cards (pre-authorization some day please square)
As a result we run the cards and hand them a reciept due to space constraints. We bought a terminal to use as a way to hand people at tables their bills and just have them sign/tip on the device for convenience, however, it appears that setting is linked amongst the entire space, so if we change it to sign/tip on device on the terminal, it changes it on the registers, which we want to have sign/tip on a printed reciept.
Does anyone know if this is possible, or square, do you have a suggestion?
Hello @85bardesmoines thanks for your question. I'm not sure about this one, but just wondering aloud on your post if someone else may have an answer that could relate to this...
I wonder if you set up two locations; one location to act for your bar, and the other to act when processing terminal transactions. Maybe having two locations, you'd be able to separate the sign/tip on device, and then the print receipt transactions. Hope you're able to find an answer to this.
Hey there @85bardesmoines - Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Seller Community with your question.
I want to say this is a feature request and that this setting cannot be edited by device unless you are using Square for Restaurants. Let me check with our engineers and I'll get back to you once I've confirmed!
Chiming in for @_Violet here at this time Tipping rules are location-based and not device-specific. The suggestion offered by @HC_Charlie would be your best bet in order to have separate tipping rules @85bardesmoines.
I hope this information is helpful!
