SALES TAX HELP!

I just set up my online store with Square, but I am confused about one thing... SALES TAX.  I thought square was going to compute the tax for me depending on where the buyer was from.  I guess not.  How do I set this up?  And set up in legal way?  I live in Brighton, Colorado... am I just supposed to charge the tax from here?

I would appreciate any advice and guidance.  Thank you!

Susanna

Hi Susanna. From what I understand and have read, a physical transaction (customer being present) is charged at the sales tax of the state you're in.

That would make sense, as people travel and purchases are made everywhere.

In my own experience, as I sell overseas in many countries (not with square - I'm in network marketing)  and the sale is calculated at the tax which the buyer states is the delivery address.

Hope this helps.
