Printing order tickets from road mobile app

I'm trying to figure out how to auto print orders from the mobile app in Retail POS  when a sale is made on the road.

Here is the flow.

1. Sales rep makes a sale in person.

2. Places the order on the mobile app.

3. Processes the transaction payment.

4. The order prints at the office automatically to a thermal printer.

5. Office packs and ships the item to the customer.

I understand that printers don't work off network but thought that if it was connected to the same store in the app that it could be set to print.

does anyone have advice on the best way to setup this scenario?

Maybe I need to use a different setup in the items or store? We can't use an online store unless we can make it private.

What do people do for physical stores where someone comes in to place an order that will ship to them at a later date?

I appreciate the help and advice!

Thanks,

Jon

Hey @Jon8 - there's a simple way that I know works with the standard POS app that will be able to auto print to a receipt thermal printer. Not totally sure if this will work with the retail app (I use a combo of the standard pos & the restaurant stuff).

Within the app settings you can enable the 'schedule order' - this is pretty much the ability to make an online style order from within the app. So you should be able to then add the customer & all their details & pop it in as a delivery order.

Then, in the office you'd have another iPad & thermal printer, set up to auto print orders. Job done.

Alternatively, you could set an online store with either a totally random address so it won't be stumbled on or set a password for access. Then any device could be used for orders (same setup in the office), but all orders would need to be paid for via card for them to be completed/processed.
