Prep Time for Restaurants

How do I set the 'order timing' option to calculate based on the current time, not based on my hours of operations?

For example.

I am open for business 11 AM to 7 PM. My current prep time is 5 hours. If I place an order at 9 PM tonight the earliest pick-up or delivery time is 4PM tomorrow, not 11 AM. This means no delivery can be scheduled for the first 5 hours of operations regardless of when it is placed.

Hello @chefsian

At the moment that would be a feature request.

It is done that way by design, since most businesses only prep orders during open hours.

Some things you can do are either lower the prep time or change the open hours so that, with a prep time of 5 hours, you can still have orders ready by 11AM.

Let me know if either of those options would work for you! Thank you!

Thank you @frances_a

My only issue with your suggestion is that customers may then expect my physical location to be open at 6 AM.

Lowering the prep time would not help much since I would need to adjust the hours of operation to meet my intended pick-up and delivery times. This would give customer the impression that my physical location is open at 6 AM

I understand your statement about prepping during open hours. However every single restaurant owner, manager, and worker I know would disagree with you. Prep hours are a necessary part of  every food service operation. Being short staffed in winter makes it necessary to extend my prep hours.
