Online store disabled tax function not working

HELP. It's a tax-free weekend in Massachusetts where I am located. I've advertised in my online store that purchases are tax-free. I've disabled the state tax according to Square instructions, and it even says, "This tax is disabled. It will not apply to any purchases." and it gives me the option to re-enable. And yet when I test out the buying process it keeps adding on the Massachusetts sales tax to the purchase. Am I doing something wrong or is this Square tax disabling function just non-fuctional?

Thanks for posting, @Pao-pao 👋

Where did you update your tax settings? Did you make changes on the Square dashboard, or the Square Online dashboard? There's a few places on the Square Online dashboard where you can adjust tax settings.

I took a look at your account, and it looks like you may have already hit these areas, but just to confirm, can you check the following places:

1) Square Online dashboard > Settings > Taxes

2) Square Online dashboard > Items > Site Items (you can bulk edit by checking the box next to the items, then hit the Edit link in the top right corner to bulk apply or remove taxes. Or, you can click each individual item to mark the item as tax exempt.

If you are still having an issue with this, can you post a link to one of the items on your site so we can take a look? You are also welcome to reach out to the support team for faster, one-on-one assistance.

Thanks! 😊
