Offline Mode

Yesterday, I was attempting to take payments on my Square Reader (on a Motorola Droid, carrier Verizon) and could not establish an internet connection. I took 3 payments in the Offline Mode. Last night, and this morning, I have been trying to complete those transactions, but again, I cannot establish an internet connection to my Register. My phone is showing that it's connecting to the WiFi at my home, but the Register Dashboard tells me that the connection failed. When I hit 'Tap to Retry', nothing happens.

@Buster724 - So sorry to hear about the trouble! With a few troubleshooting steps, we should be able to get these payments to process.

 

To get going, have you tried restarting your device? Have you quitting the app and then reopening it? Have you tried connecting to a different wifi connection? Have you tried forgetting the wireless network, and then reconnecting?

What does the offline mode mean?

i am able to take up to $300 only but anything above it says off line or wifi not connected 

I am missing customers with this

Hey there, @Jp76

 

Welcome back to the Community. 

 

When you're using payments in Offline Mode, it essentially captures the card information without running the card. Once your device is back online, you will see the transactions go through.

 

Are you seeing a limit when it comes to using offline mode? Is this per transaction or for the day?
