New to square

I have the square reader app on my  I Pad. I have  chip reader & dock . Do I plug in I Pad to 

The chip reader/ dock and if so where at. I have a show the 9/29/22

you do not plug the dock into the iPad, that is just to charge the reader.  the reader will connect via Bluetooth to the iPad.
