Multiple price points and inventory for selling medicine

Hi, we are a medical clinic and want to keep track of our medicine inventory. We currently have each medicine set up with 3 different price points. Is there any way to keep track of the item? I can see that you can set up an inventory for each price point but we don't have the medecine assigned per price point but as a whole. We just have different prices for different kind of patients.

10 bottles of medecine A

P1: $10

P2: $5

P3: $0

So whenever someone purchase at price 1,2 or 3, I would like to see the 10 bottles inventory decrease. Is that feasible?

I'm not an expert but I don't think what you are trying to do is possible.  I think you would have to create an item listing for each type of medicine you sell with it's corosponding inventory numbers and then use some kind of pricing variation or discount for multiple items sold.

Hi @MichianaDPC

I have a vitamin business and understand completely what you are trying to do.

For instance: Vitamin C - has a couple of strengths and a few different sizes of each.

What you can do is create an item for the different stregth, ie

Vitamin C 1,000mg

100 tablets - price

250 capsules  - price

and then

Vitamin C 500 mg

90 caps - price

180 caps - price

or you can make these different "variations" all under the Vitamin C name

Also turning on inventory helps you dertermine which of these you're selling more of, and when you're running low.

I hope his is helpful!

Thank you Stellar119 for your input! I see what you are doing with the Vitamin. What you are saying is really straight forward and would work fine if each of my products were different. My issue is that I have 10 bottles of Zofran (all identical) but I sell them at different prices depending on the patient. As such, I cannot assign a quantity per price point: 2 btl @ P1, 2 btls @ P2 and 6 btls @ P3, etc. It beats the purpose of keeping track of all my 10 bottles in one shot. I am already looking into another solution. I was hoping to keep track through Bulk but I don't have that figured out.

@MichianaDPC

Oh! i see what you mean!

Since you're offering pricing differences based on customers, not n inventory, maybe use the discount tool and offer either percentage discount or a dollar amount discount, based on customer teir or order size.

I group my customers that way:

Vip 10%

Inner circle 20%

Very large order 15%

Family members and office staff: 40%

and so on and so on.

Hope this helps!
