Missing exchange option on square retail

We are using (and paying $60 a month) Square Retail plus and we have no way to process exchanges. What are we missing?  Is there an option that we didn't turn on?

 

Also is there a way to do an exchange without going through the transaction history? Say someone comes back after a longer span of time (14 days, 30 days, etc) and doesn't have a receipt or dosen't really remember what day they were here last something like they say I was here on the 4th I like and really they were on the 12th, so searching transaction history on the 4th is no help.

 

They paid cash or don't have the exact card they paid with or they are bringing back a gift.

 

Looking for a quick easy way to do returns without holding up the line while I search for a random transaction.

Is it possible that you are logged into the Square Point of Sale app instead of Square for Retail, @ElmStreetToys? 🧸 

 

If you are certain your are logged into the Square for Retail app while looking for the exchange option, please get in touch with our team by phone so we can take a closer look at your account with you and shine a light on the issue.

 

You can process an exchange without manually running through your transaction history by either swiping your customer’s card or searching for the receipt number. If the customer does not have a receipt or the card used to make the purchase, and does not know when they made a purchase, it will be more difficult to locate the transaction.

I'm using the Square Register hardware and have applied the updates to it.

 

Is it possible to not be logged into the Square Retail while using the hardware?

Yep @ElmStreetToys!

 

If you never logged out of Square Point of Sale on your Square Register, then into Square for Retail, you may still be using Square Point of Sale on your Register. You can follow the steps here to ensure you are properly logged into the Square for Retail app via your Register.
