Messaging instead of appointment?

I think I'm overcomplicating setting up a drop-off time for my service (knife sharpening). Instead of booking a time to drop off their items, they just message me and I can discuss a good time for both of us directly. 

So once a client goes to my knife sharpening item page, instead of adding items to the shopping cart, there's a button for the client to message me. Suggestions?

In my opinion, I believe it would be easiest for you to utilize the "Contact Us" section to accomplish this. You can edit the section title and description to let your customers know what they would be using this section for and what information you need from them. This can be found in your site editor if you wish to add it!

This certainly is a workaround I haven't thought of. Although I continued to test this and that after posting my question. I found a comment on a Square Online Facebook page, where Appointments were being discussed. In a video presentation done by one of the respondents, I found out you can create a button for booking. 

I created the HTML script to create this button, but... I can't figure out how to replace the "shop now" or "add to cart" buttons where I have my service listed on the Featured Item page or through the Online Shopping page.

While I'm still hoping to get the issue with the book now button issue resolved I've decided to go with your suggestion. I did a quick edit of my knife sharpening description and included instructions for potential clients to use my contact us form to arrange a drop-off time. For this reason, I'll mark your suggestion as the "best answer". As it was your comment that made me think about this.
