Make Modifications Retroactive?

Good morning,

I recently went through and categorized all of the items we sell to get a better idea of what type of product sells best for us (we are a brewery that makes several new beers throughout the year)
Unfortunately, the category modification is not retroactive, meaning that since they were uncategorized before, when I look at sales reports by category, everything before last week still is under "Uncategorized"
I am wondering if there is a way to make the change retroactive or if I am stuck just tracking it moving forward.

Thank you!

It will only be from the time you made the change forward. For example If you moved an item from a category to a different category the old sales would still show up under the previous category.  In this case it was uncategorized which is a category that some people use.

I know this is an old thread, but is there a way to make the category changes and edits retroavtive?

thank you!

@dwri Thanks for checking in but I'm afraid it's not possible to make changes to categories/items retroactive. I'll flag your request to the Reporting team!

This is so frustrating.......so I have services that the appointments are reoccurring.  The categories on those services are forever uncategorized unless I delete their appointment and reschedule each one.  Which then sends that person a confirmation that I cancelled their appointment.  😒
