Linking Square to Quickbooks desktop

I just linked my square account to quickbooks desktop. If i email an invoice to customer right now, will they have option to pay with credit card, or will this go into effect tomorrow?

Hi @AndreaMoran2018 - Are you using Invoices with Square? If so, it should be live for credit card payment processing immediately.

From what I can tell it looks as if I will need to pay another monthly fee of $12-$34 in order to actually link square to my quickbooks desktop version.  Is there not a free option provided by square?  I can't seem to get a simple download and import to work with quickbooks due to formatting issues of the csv file provided by my square account.

Thanks Helen!

Hello @IanJ,

Thanks for posting in the Seller Community for the first time, welcome! 😊

With any API integration, there will always be a fee associated to connect with Square POS. While we can't provide specific assistance in relation to quickbooks, you may find this guide handy.

You can also contact Quickbooks here  for any additional troubleshooting.

I look forward to reading your thoughts!

Can someone please answer this simple question? Does Square Payroll integrate with QB Desktop also, or only QB Online?

Hi there, @GeorgeX 👋 Thanks for reaching out here on the Seller Community! Good to hear from you again.

I've merged your post into an existing thread of Seller who were also looking for information regarding syncing the Quickbooks desktop feature This Best Answer from Helen will point you to some helpful resources regarding setup and FAQ's.

It's important to note here that third-party integrations are managed by the separate party in question. If you are not finding any specifics for the desktop feature connecting to the Payroll through Square, we would recommend reaching out to Quickbooks directly for their suggested work-around.

I hope this information is helpful! Feel free to reach back out if you have any clarifying questions.

Does Square Payroll integrate with QB desktop?  A simple yes or no will do, and save a lot of time for a valued customer (me).  Thank you.

I have about 6 months' worth of individual Square transactions from online (about 90%) and in person (10%) sales which I need to properly show in Quickbooks Desktop. It's retail food so there is no sales tax to take into acount, but there are of course fees associated with the payments. I know that if I bring in the full value of the payments, the fees would need to be recorded as a negative so that the bank transfer amount matches the total amount of the sales collected minus those fees.

Since the bank account associated with my Square account shows the deposits from Square for those transactions - I bring them in manually and match them each month -  how do I import the individual sale transactions from Square so that they are matched to the bank deposits but don't show up as extra income?

Thanks!
