Item on POS is added to check before selecting modifiers

We have items with modifiers that require a minimum of one, and a maximum of two. Think, double scoop ice cream cone. You need at least one flavor of ice cream, but could have two. When we choose the first modifier it automatically closes to item menu and adds it to the check, causing you to have to re-edit the item if you want to add the second modifier. Is there a way to disable the automatically triggered save?

@SConfectionery In the online dashboard when you edit an item there is a toggle slider at the very bottom that says "automatically add item to check".  Make sure this is toggled off to keep this from happening.
