Item discounts and item prices on the Square Register

In the Square retail app, during checkout you can select one of the items and adjust price and or apply an individual item discount.  How do we do this in the Square Register?

To apply a discount to an individual item using the Square Register:

1. Tap Current Sale.
2. Tap the item you’d like to discount.
3. Tap the discount you’d like to apply to add it to the current sale.
4. Tap Save.

If you need items in your library with flexible pricing, you can create variably priced items. To create a variably priced item, follow the same steps to create an item, but be sure to leave the price field blank. This allows you to enter the price of the item at checkout. The price you enter will be applied to the current transaction and won’t save to your item library.

Unfortunately, this does not do what I was looking to do.  The good news is that I was able to figure it out on my own that I can log in to the Square for Retail app from the Register.
