Before deposits were changed to transfers, I could print the deposit report which would give me a description of each transaction included in the deposit. Now that transfer report "pops-out" to the side and when I right click to print, it looks like a screen capture instead of a report, and does not print well. Is there a way to get to this report and print it like I used to be able to?
From the Transfer Reports screen, you can click Export in the upper right hand corner and export a report of all transfers in the time frame you have selected. It will show every charged/debited transaction's detail for you.
The new reports no longer list 'Payments in this transfer.' Is this a setting or has it been taken out of this report. If so WHY? It's darn near impossible to tell which transactions make up each transfer (deposit.) You'd think that'd be easily/readily available.
Thanks
Welcome back to the Community, @RESeminary -
Are you looking at the reports under "Balance" too?
You can see a breakdown of which payments make up each transfer.
Unfortunately, you wouldn't be able to get the old format after the update to the Dashboard.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Where do I find the reports on the Balance screen - at present I see no option for that
I created a Custom Report that shows my daily totals for a month which can be exported as a csv. By doing this I see my Monthly Gross and a my daily Deposits. From your Dashboard-Reports at the you can see custom Reports... you may need to create one. I did mine awhile ago and am not sure of the steps I did.
1st picture is of the CSV file that I downloaded, 2nd Picture shows where you can create it in the Reports page and where you click to Export it. You maybe able to manually copy my web address from the 2nd picture to get you close to where you need to be for creating your own report
Some example data from this January that was exported as a CSV filey
This is where the data comes from
hmmmmm....it seems ridiculously complicated to just get a total of the deposts (transfers) for the year? I don't need daily just a year-end total.
I use the transfers report but it prints horrible. I use (Ctrl-P) to print the report but the printout misses rows near the bottom or top of any page. With rows missing it makes using this data to balance a day's deposit very difficult. I think there needs to be printable view button somewhere on this report. I cannot believe that square would not have a printable report to show the details in a day's deposit. I expect that any POS system would have a printable report needed to balance your bank statement. This is a complete FAIL from Square in my opinion.
I did a Video on after I downloaded the Balance report for a month on how to get it into Google sheets. I used Google sheets for the video since it is free and everyone can have access to it. I have the deposits by Date not individual transactions in this thread.... Message 7 of 7 : Questions-How-To/How-do-I-create-a-report-that-acts-as-a-monthly-statement/m-p/675336#M110858 The entire video is 5 min long to get a Monthly Daily Deposit log.
2 issues:
@Allegro1212 ; You can do the same steps just use the entire year for the date range. Import this to Google Sheets as I show and then Choose Deposited and the very bottom will give you the Sum for the year for that column. This can be done in Excel and is nicer since it can break totals by Month / Quarter / and Year. Steps are very similar except how to load the CSV files to excel, but Insert - Pivot Table to new Sheet is all the same and even the Pivot Table Rows/ Columns/ Values are similar.
is there a way to get the Transfer report by deposit to also list the Customer Name?
@BBGF ;
This depends on 3 things, If Square has the persons Name on file, either from them signing on and creating a Square Customer account or if you helped then create an account for them as your Customer, and the 3rd way is if the Credit Card they use sends their name to Square not all do. Some of my customers names appear on the receipt view and will show in the Transfer or maybe Transaction report, and others show as something like Discover Card User.... This is because of more privacy laws. So the only way to get your customers names in these reports would be to create or add them by name to each sale at the time of the sale. Once the sale is processed, you cannot add their name to the sale that I am aware of.
