I am a personal chef and caterer and have a meal pick up program where my clients go online and pre-order my menu the week prior from Tuesday-Friday. And then I shut down my store so I can prep the food for 5 days. The pick up time is always set for Thursday from 4-6 pm. But the way my program works, in Square is, I can set the time and date for Thursday between 4-6pm. But since I am posting the menu the week prior, I set a 5 business day lead time so the receipts will populate the correct date and time. If I don't remember on the Thursday (the week prior to my pick up) at 6:00pm to change the lead time to "No lead time- available immediately" it will automatically change the date on my customers receipt to the following Thursday 2 weeks out. It is a real pain, and would love the option of being able to just lock in a date and have it set, rather than messing with the lead-time at 6:00pm every Thursday to ensure the correct pick up date is reflected on their receipt. Thank you.
Your request is the request of a whole lot of bakeries who use square and have run into very similar problems with the way the online ordering system is now. For example - holidays and baking schedules that need a fixed pick up day or time frame, not for the clock to start when the customer places the order.
And so far NOTHING has been done to address this very real system flaw.
Very, very disappointing.
It's TERRIBLE and is going to make me have to switch platforms. This is unacceptable.
