Is there a way to enter the wholesale that isn't in the description?

I'm trying to keep track of profit by finding a way to put the cost in a separate category other than the item description. When I send invoices to clients.. they see the full description and we do not want them seeing the cost. HELP

Solution

if you wanted to still keep the cost in the description and now allowing them to see it, you can toggle that off by navigating to Accounts & Settings > Business > Receipt then scroll down to Item and toggle the description off.

hope this helps

I appreciate your help! That was a good one for the future!

Ahh, I see.  I'm not sure as of a way other than running reports and checking the COGS.  Or maybe a spreadsheet made and then a running a report each week/month to total up the items.

For what its worth Square for Retail allows you to put in item costs as a separate thing in your items and can automatically track cost of goods sold. It has some hiccups like you have to receive the inventory for it to count it (so for me I had to fake receive tons of dummy inventory). I have Square for Retail just for this reason and I actually use the normal Square POS app because its a better interface for my shop.

How did you do that?

If you have a Square for Retail subscription then there is an extra column when you input variants of your items like this:

So if i add like a second Price? I just label it as Cost? My only concern is that when we end up doing online sales, will they see that other price? that item ranges from $$ - $$$ when it's only the one price. Does that make sense?

No what I mean is if you have Square for Retail then you have a column to track the unit cost like this:

I'm sorry, I'm new to Square so I need a little guidance getting to that screen. Could you help me with that? I really appreciate it!
