Hello,
I run a retail store that is getting ready to launch online sales. Ideally, I was hoping to be able to print shipping labels straight from the square stand that we use as our register. Does anyone know if there is a shipping label printer out there that would be compatible? All I see Square marketing is receipt printers. Any insight would be appreciated, thanks.
Hi Fishnplants,
Don't think there is a printer with the connectivity that can do what you have in mind. There are also other things to consider - you can get specific labels for both UPS and USPS. We simply use blank generic shipping labels and our computer printer - it's an extra step but, regardless if going UPS or USPS, it works quite well and we can control the size of the label depending on the size of the package or box.

We use a dedicated computer for receiving our online orders and printing out our Shipping Labels with a Thermal printer. The Copy Paste method works better on a computer than on an Ipad. IMO The benefit of the Dedicated shipping computer is, you can still have someone use the Square Stand to help in store customers as someone else is packing and labeling online orders. We also use the dedicated shipping computer to print the online orders to go and pull the items that need to be packed for shipping. We use the Free Thermal 4x6 shipping labels from FedEx or UPS, but were using the Free InkJet compatible labels from UPS or FedEx before getting the Thermal printer.
