Is it possible to create a custom website and use the API for getting items, processing payments..?

I am thinking of using the API, but when I look at the JSON for the item list, it doesn't appear to have an object key/value for where it appears in the online store (section).

Also, is it possible to create a custom website and use the API for getting items, processing payments, etc.?

Are you looking to set up categories? 

As for creating a custom website, it is possible. The v2 API can be used for processing payments. We don't have support for items yet in the v2 API, so developers will still need to use the v1 API to work with items.
