Is it possible to connect an older IPAD 2 stand to the new chip reader with USB?

I have an IPAD 2 and the new chip reader, is it possible to connect them via USB?

Also, if I find an old Ipad 2 stand, can I connect the stand to the reader via USD?

Yes, if you connect it to the Hub of your Square Stand it will work fine.

Do I need a stand to do this, yet another purchase?

@dorigillman You don't need a Stand to connect to the Contactless Chip Reader. You can connect to your iPad or phone via bluetooth.
