Is it possible to access sales reports for 2 sites with Team Plus enabled for only 1 site?

Hi there, hope you are well.

 

I've just run into a problem that I hope someone can help me get around.

 

I run two sites with my Square account and I have Team Plus enabled on one of the sites. However, we are 3 partners in the business and would like to all be able to see sales reports from both sites without having to enable Team Plus for both sites. Is that not possible somehow? It seems that I need to add the two other partners to the second site in order to allow them to see sales reports, but then I also have to upgrade to Team Plus, which I'd really like to avoid.

 

Hope there's a solution to this and I hope someone can help!

Nice to see you back here in the Community. 

 

You are correct, by adding your partners to your second site with custom permission sets you would need to activate Team Plus on the second site and pay the subscription fee.  

 

I've been trying to think of a workaround here, I can understand that sharing log in details to the account would not be ideal. You could potentially download your monthly sales summaries into a CSV file and email it over to your partners.

OK, but just to be clear; I'm not interested in finding a way of giving custom permission sets to the second site – I'd just like to make it possible for our managers to see sales reports from all sites at any given time. Hope that makes sense.

 

Can it really be true that we have to pay £20 a month for each manager in order to let them see what sales we've done? That doesn't really seem right and feels like a big oversight as it's a pretty standard and expected feature I'd say.

 

Again, we don't need to be able to add custom permissions as such, we just need to be able to see sales across all sites.

Correct @skafte , because it sounds like you have those partners set up at one location but if you would like them to be able to access the second location, a subscription update will be required. Hope this clarifies my previous answer but let me know if not. 🙂

Thanks for your response and confirmation.

 

I really hope Square will consider making it possible to share sales reports across sites without having to upgrade to Team Plus for all sites – I think that's a pretty stingy approach, to be honest. It should be in Square's interest to support the expansion of businesses as it effectively means more transaction fees down your pocket. We don't need all the features of Team Plus but would just like to share sales reports across sites.

Thanks @Breffni! I appreciate your help with this.

 

Just to let you know, whilst waiting/hoping for a better solution, I've found a way around this issue by allowing managers to be logged in to my account only in the 'Dasboard' app (I've done the logging in on their phones in order to avoid sharing my login details). In this way, managers can see sales across sites, but not have access to any settings of our system (which they would have to go through the regular 'Square' app to get access to). Hope that makes sense. In other words, I've solved the problem by using different apps for different things 🙂

Hi @skafte, thanks for your post and your feedback. As per @Breffni wrote above, an upgrade to your subscription is needed in order to allow your partners to access the sales summary for all locations from their accounts. Due to data protection and account security reasons, we do not suggest sharing your login credential with a third party or letting other people use your credentials on their devices. 

 

The best solution here is to upgrade your subscription and add them to each location or share the sales summary manually.

Thanks for your advice @Emma_, but I'm afraid there is no way I am paying £20 a month just for being able to share sales reports with my team. I'd rather take the risk of sharing my login details. I hope though that Square will improve in this area. Cheers!
